  abstract = {We study the emergent thermodynamics associated with an arbitrary quench in the Heisenberg XY model by calculating the irreversible entropy produced and the work fluctuation. The irreversible entropy is obtained by calculating the difference between the average work done and an effective free energy change. An exact expression for the work fluctuation is obtained and is shown to exhibit non-analytic behavior as the prequench transverse field and anisotropy parameters cross quantum critical points.},
