Exact expression for the work fluctuation in a quenched transverse field Ising chain

We study the emergent thermodynamics associated with an arbitrary field quench in the Transverse Field Ising Model by calculating the fluctuations in the work done. An exact expression for the work fluctuation is obtained and is shown to exhibit non-analytic behavior when the system is initially critical.
