SanD interns 2023

SanD resumed its on-site internship midyear extension activities in 2023. This batch of student interns consisted of DOST-SEI Scholars Francis Latoja, Charmaine Tolledo, Clarissa Torio, and Mark Danganan under the DOST–SEI Practical Training Program. They performed programming activities in relation to their work on computational materials modeling (QUANTUM Espresso) and quantum circuit algorithms (Qiskit).

On-the-job training

College students who want to intern at SanD during the midyear term must have their internship program supervisor communicate their intent to the National Institute of Physics. A detailed list of additional OJT requirements at NIP may be found here.

Science Internship Program

The SIP is an immersion program organized by the Philippine Science High School (PSHS) and NIP. Every midyear term, SIP participants engage in the day-to-day activities of their assigned NIP research laboratory and gain firsthand insights into the life of a Filipino physicist. The unique and challenging tasks in this program inspire many students to pursue careers in science and technology. Prior to 2015 the SIP program was known as the Summer Science Internship Program (SSIP).
